# Preparation Steps:
01 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
02 - In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
03 - Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
04 - Fold diced apples into the batter until evenly distributed.
05 - Heat vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C), filling about 2 inches deep.
06 - Drop heaping tablespoons of batter into the hot oil, frying 3 to 4 at a time. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
07 - Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
08 - Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
